GVHD is LAME

That is what I think - anyway. The doctor says he is pleased. Easy for him to say. Kenyon is MISERABLE. He feels pretty much as lousy as he has ever felt. Yesterday at our appointment, the doc diagnosed Kenyon with GVHD (graft vs host disease). They have told us all along that a little of that stuff is good. It tells us that the new marrow is doing its job. So we knew this could happen but we kept hoping it wouldn't. The GVHD has shown up in his liver, skin, gut and mouth. So, guess what that means??? More medicine. Kenyon loves getting more prescrips. Not. One of them requires him to swish medicine in his mouth for FIVE minutes 3x/day. The doctor says he should feel some relief quite quickly otherwise we will be getting another prescription for a steroid.

So, there you have it. Keep him in your prayers. He is hating it.

PS - I am mad at Huntsman. The dumb doctor told me that I can't bring Quinn anymore. Please. Snotty toddlers - OK. Tiny little babies that need their mom - Not OK. Ughhh.

I am so sorry! I can't believe they won't let you take her in. I thought tiny babies were like the exception to everything. Especially one that is so cute! Her blessing dress is adorable. Maybe you should take her to Huntsman in that. Just kidding.

Annie,
I'm sorry to hear that Kenyon is having a hard time. I want you to know our family has kept him in our prayers since he was first diagnosed. There is not a family prayer in our house that doesn't include Bro. Porter. We hope he feels better soon.
Your baby is beautiful!

Kenyon continues to be in our prayers too, but know that you are in them as well. This is what we call "an ordeal." It is hard on everybody in your family. The Lord hears and is mindful.

That stinks! All of it. I would be sooo happy to take Quinn while you are at appointments. Trace has been begging to play with Gavin too. Hang in there.

I'm so sorry to hear about Kenyon - he is in our prayers! That stinks that you have to leave Quinn, but if you need someone, I'd love to take her (and any of your other kids), mine is not a cute newborn anymore. :)

I can't believe that she can not go with you. I would love to keep her and Gavin anytime. When Gavin comes, He entertains Kaige and Banks so well, that I could give all my attention to Quinn. Please let me help you anytime - I mean it.

Oh! We are so sorry to hear about a setback! This cancer thing is totally lame and so unpredictable! You are both in our prayers... please let us know if we can do anything. We hope you feel better soon Kenyon--maybe you can come rant and rave with Jake. We have lots of that going on at our house right now with all of his medication too (steroids in particular)!

A. Yes, GVHD is lame.
B. You need a break and we should go play.
C. You happen to have a friend who lives not far from Huntsman and who would LOVE to watch that squishy little Quinn either at her house or I (uh, er, I mean "she") could meet you up there and just stroll the lobby while you're in appointments.
D. Seriously. Let me help!
