OR - I would be willing to move to

New York City. I know most people think I am crazy. And maybe it would be. I know it would be hard to live there with 4 kids but I am kind of in the mood for a challenge. I am definitely in the mood for some city life.

This new show on Bravo  - 9 By Design - has me dreaming of a NYC adventure every week. Check out this family. 7 kids and two parents are amazing designers. They have been building amazing homes in NYC. Of course it would only cost us like 25 million to live in one of their places - but I can dream.
Besides cool architecture, design, and art, I like the show for the look at parenting a large family. Of course they have help and everything is edited, but I am pretty impressed with how they seem to handle 7 children, a crazy business, a reality show, and busy city life - all with a sense of humor. Courtney (the mom) seems so good at mothering. And everyone appears quite happy.

I don't think you're crazy, living in NYC is AWESOME! And since I work in an orthodontic office and therefore see a TON of kids, teenagers, families that are born and raised in NYC, I can see that it is doable. I've actually heard of a family that lives on the Upper East side that has 12 kids! And they're not even LDS! Family living here seems normal to me now because I see tons of NYC moms and their kids living their everyday city lives. Okay, so most of them are ridiculously rich. And you better believe most of the mom's have nanny's and babysitters because in order to live in the city their family has to have two incomes, so the mom has to work. But man, it's such a cool life they live! We went running along the Hudson on Saturday morning and saw a ton of kids' baseball and soccer games going on at the fields there, all the way down the island. It's so fun to see families doing regular family things, with their kids, in this city setting. What an amazing experience for these kids! Although, the kids playing little league on a field sandwiched between skyscrapers probably are totally oblivious to how cool and unique their life really is. Anyway - you're not crazy for wanting to live here, it's amazing!!

That looks like a good show. Thinking of a big city made me miss London. A suburb outside of LA has perks -- lots to do, but small town feel. I think you would love Moorpark :)

I love NYC...We just got back, and I have to say that they were so kind to my kids, and the opportunities are so exciting...I don't think I would want to live there forever, but a year or two would be awesome!

We watched to first episode of that show and loved it. Karl's sister moved from Brooklyn to Jersey. Her husband works in New York. So, they have the perks of being by the city, having the big city pay, and then having a huge house in the suburbs with the nanny and all that. But I do see the appeal of actually living in the city. And, well, if I could live in one of those houses that the couple designed, that would be awesome.

Okay, I just watched the first episode and I LOVE this show!! It's so good! I am now addicted. And I want to do what they do. It's so amazing! It would be so incredible to design and build such amazing houses, and they could make sooo much money (and obviously do) doing it. Oh to be so creative and to have the money to do something like that.... Thanks for introducing me to a new addicting show! I love it!
