Are you happy?

Last night we had a super late Stake temple night. It was nice but super late. So by the time we got to watch American Idol Final Result Show it was 11pm. I pretty much fast-forwarded through the 2 hours - pausing for things I liked. I was SO tired and by midnight I was finally to the end. Just as Ryan Seacrest said "and the winner is..." my DVR recording ended. What in the world! Last night I hated my DVR (even though it really is one of my most favorite modern inventions). Why can't it stop recording when the show actually ends? Duh! This is has actually happened to me too many times and you would think that I would learn my lesson. So after staying up way too late, I just looked up the winner online. Lame.

However, I am happy. I would have been happy with either one but David Cook is great. Archuleta will still do so well - and who knows maybe even better. I know for sure that one of my readers out there may just be falling apart - she was a DIE-HARD Archuleta fan.

This morning, Kenyon comes sauntering out for breakfast and he was whistling that ridiculous "we are brothers" song that they did last night. I did not want that song in my head all day. Thanks a lot, hon!

I loved them both. I think it's fitting that David Cook won though -- Archuleta has a better voice, but David Cook is a better performer. I must have had a premonition that American Idol would go over (since it ALWAYS does by about two minutes!) so I set my DVR to program the news afterwards. Thank goodness or I would have been in your boat too and frantically checking out the internet!

Annie, I cant tell you how many times my DVR has done that to me, your post made me laugh because I can only imagine how ticked off I would have been. He will have a huge recording contract by the end of the day I predict. I always think the one that comes in second is the real winner because they will get to choose from many offers. Anyways have a great day!! By the way I drove by Chick fil A lastnight and people were there camping out in their tents. I thought of you:)

I saw the tents at Chick Fil A! They must really love their food... I think David Archuleta needs to become an adult before he becomes the next heartthrob. I think it's kind of gross to be worshiping a minor. I know, I know - it's always the case but I still think there's something wrong with it!

Great....now that stupid song is in my head!! We had the same late night experience that you did. Thank goodness to DVR we didn't have to suffer through the full 2 hours of dumb musical numbers. But at least I caught the last few seconds on our DVR... I think what may help you is change the recording end time. On my DVR when you create a timer you can go into "options" and force the recording to "end late". I usually do 3 minutes. See if you have that option on yours.

The same thing happened to us except with our VCR that we borrowed from the Flinstones. Oh, so Sam walked in the other morning with this stupid toy that was a toilet with two suckers on it. Apparently he got Karl to buy it for him. I totally thought of you and that dinosaur toy. It made me find more humor in the whole thing. Thanks.

Another thing. I was so sad about Archuleta losing that I was bugging myself. I thing it is because of my whole MHS connection and then I was so excited to have someone that just like such a good kid in the limelight.

Annie, I will make no comment here. We've said enough. tee hee. But really, you voted 10 times for David Cook? Just don't make Kenyon change his hair to that yucky hair do. I had to wonder who Pres. Monson voted for. Do you feel bad yet?

Annie,
So I guess I'm not the die-hard fan you're referring to, since this is the first time I've read your blog, but, don't worry, I am okay. I think it's for the best for both of them. Tom made me go to the ESA with him to watch the final live. I didn't want to since I was pretty sure Cook would win, but it was fun anyway and good to get it over with sooner. I knew you were a Cookie, but I do love my little Archuettuce and I know he'll go far. Your DVR story was funny-- that keeps happening to Tom's parents with sports things. Did I mention I love David Archuleta? Just checking.
