Happy 1st Birthday

June 25, 2008 - Kenyon received a bone marrow transplant. His donor was his older brother, Brett. You can read about it here.

It was a LONG year. But it is over. The recovery is still a process - kind of a long one - but it is improving. He is still on a lot of immuno-suppressants which require us to be so careful. We do not want any set backs. :) But things are looking up.

We celebrated twice this week. I had a big surprise party for friends and my family on Monday night. We went to this great park and ate and played. But how sad - I didn't even take one picture of Kenyon at the party. He was happy though and we are grateful for all the support. We could not have survived this year without our friends/neighbors. We have been well cared for.

Tonight we had a family party. We went with the One Year Old theme. Very childish but fun. We are also very grateful for all the family love and support.

And how CUTE are those cupcakes. Check out how to make them here. My very talented niece, Lauren, made them.

Seriously? Words cannot express how cute/wonderful you are. Congrats with Kenyon, and many many birthdays to come. -Hey, I hope the reunion will not be too much work for you. You are awesome, and can obviously leap buildings, but I wouldn't want you to have to. I am going to message ILP office and see if I can get a general contact info sheet from them, and see what we can do from there.

I can't believe it's been a whole year, and a long, tough one at that. You and your family have been through a lot and handled it so well. You're such an amazing example to us and we wish you the best as recovery continues!

(So sorry we didn't make it to the park party. Hear it was great!)
Your family is so cute, and you are so nice and always thoughtful of others, despite the trials in your own life. Thanks for being wonderful examples and spiritual giants!

Kenyon is looking GOOD! So much better than 6 weeks ago. What a blessing! Cute party, too. I love the photo of Elise and Josephine--2 cute girl cousins. And I love the one of Quinn with the tipping b-day hat. Very cute.

Looks like it was a lovely party! I've been meaning to comment to the effect for awhile, but, every time I start to type, someone climbs on my head or starts to cry. Congrats!!! Can't wait to see you and the gang next week.
