Copy Cat

I am a copy cat. I admit it. My sisters and I have been having this discussion this week about copying ideas. Cool or Not Cool? I certainly hope I always give credit to my ideas. And you can always be quite sure that whatever it is - it wasn't my idea. I wish I could be more original. I wish that I could even take a good idea and change it enough to make it mine. But I can't. Or Don't. Or something. Maybe I am just lazy. Anyway - here are a couple of things I copied this week that I really liked. I found them on this blog. Matchbox Valentines. Gavin LOVED this project. He loved emptying the matchboxes and filling them with candies. He loved writing his G on each one. And I think he loved passing them out to friends at preschool. And it was a cheap project. Always a good thing.
I fell in love with these cute little party favors and it was perfect for valentines and so easy. Plus really what could be better than sour grapefruit balls and cinnamon heart candies. Yummm.

So there you have it. I copied and I loved it. It was nice to have a little creative outlet this week but it didn't require too much time, money or running around.

Well, at least you actually accomplish those great unoriginal ideas. I'm paving a bright shiny road to you know where with all of the good intentions I have. You rock, girl.

I can tell you that kaige loved the match box valentines, and Gav even gave banks an extra one he had from school. kaige is saving it to put "things" in! His favorite part is the "G" on it! I told teague that the bag is full of my favorite candies!

I think it's nice that you at least want to be original. I'm just grateful when I can even copy :-). And, on another note, I know you have good things yet to come . . . even a sunny vacation. You'll get there!

Copying=Cool because otherwise I would be Not Cool for always stealing ideas from YOUR blog! (And I really don't want to be Not Cool...)

I think it is definitely a great skill to know WHAT to copy. You find the best stuff!

i am all about copying good ideas! it's cool as long as credit is given. i am also incapable of thinking of my own original ideas so all i've got is a great ability to copy. These projects were so cute! good call!

I noticed both those ideas on inchmark this week and thought, "I should do that!" and then of course didn't get around to it.

Yours turned out darling! Way to go!

I'm so sorry Kenyon is back in the hospital. Can't we just fast forward to when this is going to be over?

You are amazing...and that quote from Elder Holland was great. I love that I can always come to your blog for great ideas. You have weeded out the bad ones...and I give you full credit - in my mind you have always made it up...funny how perspective works :)
