BFF Caramel Bars

From my 3rd most favorite cookbook - Keeping Up (it is the 2nd Ivory Family Favorites). You really should own both.

I have made these a couple of times and seriously people - they are so dangerously good.

Make these today and share them with someone!

3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup old fashioned oats
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Mix butter, brown sugar, oats, soda and salt. Press 3/4 of mixture into bottom of 9x13 pan, greased. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
1 - 14 oz pkg kraft caramels, unwrapped
3 T cream or half and half
3 T butter
2 c milk chocolate chips
While crust is baking, melt caramels, cream and butter over low heat in double broiler (I don't have one so just be careful). Pour melted mixture over crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Crumble the rest of the oat mixture over top. Bake at 350 for 15 more minutes. Cool before slicing.
*sorry about the weird formatting. don't know.

I made these but cooked them a little long. So watch the timer. What's your favorite cookbook? I've given Favorites as gifts many times and used many of the recipes, but somehow don't own it. I need to get it.

My mom asked Grace Ivory which recipes are her favorite from Keeping up, and she said the California roll salad and another one--can't remember which. I'll find out. If you like california rolls the salad is great. Maybe we should have our semi-annual (hopefully) get together and try it out....

Are these the bars that you made for us a while ago? Oh, and you made the same ones for the Grocery lady thing at your house? If so, YUM!!! These cookbooks are amazing. My favorites for sure! (By the way, what is the 3rd favorite? I'm dying to know!)

I meant to say, what cookbook is your favorite besides these two? :)

How do I buy the cookbook. I went to the website, but can't figure out how to buy the books. What is wrong with me?

I am assuming the flour gets added in with the crust mixture?
