Instead of neighbor gifts (which are fun), we decided to give to the Utah Food Bank. We invited all our neighbors to our home for hot chocolate and treats. All they have to do is bring a donation for the Utah Food Bank. We collected 800lbs of food. It was a great but very cold night.
Gavin was so helpful. No surprise. He wanted to be involved in all the details. The heat lamp in the garage, loading the food, the mechanics of the trailer, passing out hot chocolate.

This is a marvelous idea. Right in line with "Caring for the Poor and Needy" the Church just added to the 3-fold mission.
You're my hero. Not in a cliche, I'm-just-saying-that-to-be-nice kind of way, but seriously. You're my hero right now. I want to be more like you! This is such a great idea and I think it's so great that you're giving to others in such a big way. Look at all that food! You're so awesome to take on such a big project. What a positive impact you and your family are having! You're an inspiration.
I wish I would've known about it! I think that's a wonderful idea, and I want to do it next year.
I miss all you guys over there. I feel so out-of-the-loop (because, of course, I am), especially when I haven't checked out everyone's blogs for a month (my fault completely.)
Merry Christmas to you and your fabulous family!
Love,
The Bengtzens
