Teague has been very interested in doing a tri ever since he saw Egan do the Utah Half Ironman. Then he saw this awesome video called Dayton's Legs. You should watch it with your kids even if they don't want to do a tri. So he has been running (thanks to xcountry) and he is on a local swim team. That's what Kenyon says. He has new legs. Well not really. New knees. Surgery went as well as we hoped and prayed. They were able to do both knees. Hooray. But there is no question that doing two knees at once is not easy. He has some difficult recovery ahead of him. However, the doctors discovered (we already knew this) that his knees were a disaster. Well so far one prayer has been answered - Kenyon's surgery date has been moved up to Tuesday the 15th. As in 4 days. He is pretty happy about that because the truth is - he is at his all time worst pain EVER. And that, my friends, is a lot of pain. Every holiday is pretty great, but dang I love the treats that come around for Valentine's. My most favorite might be cinnamon hearts, but you can't go wrong with sugar cookies, chocolate fondue, or perfectly fudgy brownies. And I really loved my felt heart garland this year. Kenyon's family is just chalk full of talent. And here is yet another cool one. So he has a niece and niece in law who have a little custom invitation/announcement company. They do awesome stuff. Lion King is freakin' awesome. We totally loved it. And you wouldn't know it from the huge grin on Teague's face but he almost didn't come. Why? Because we had to wear "church clothes." It kind of felt like only one thing. But it was fun (at least for some of us). Elise has been playing competition soccer and that means major life changes. Two - three practices a week and a 5 tournaments. Have you ever seen such happy girls? This was after winning the Sparta Cup and it was hard fought. They were seriously pumped up. Today is my Dad's birthday and I wish we could celebrate with him.
